Lynn Farrar, Oklahoma
Oklahoma native, Jennifer
Lynn Farrar could not ignore her artistic legacy. Her ancestors included her mother and
grandmother who were accomplished oil painters and her grandfather who was a
welder by trade. Lynn realized she
wanted to be an artist when she painted a watercolor of a rose in kindergarten.
The glass medium did not find her until thirty six years later. She has been cutting, stacking and sculpting
with glass for the past eleven years.
The history and images of the West and Southwest are particularly
inspiring; however she also creates many types of multi-dimensional and edgy
works of art.
Lynn has participated in numerous exhibitions. Her glass art was featured in the UK/OK: Exploring Traditions in Contemporary Design – Group Exhibition - at the Frank Lloyd Wright Price Tower Art Center. In 2010, Jennifer was selected into the juried exhibition "Walking On Glass" in Taos, New Mexico.
“The rich diversity of our world, combined with my desire to give back, fuels my spirit for creativity. I layer, stack, and solder glass pieces together while “folding in” different found objects that add texture and dimension. Light and color play a powerful role in each edgy, original glass design”.
