Aline Sar, CA

Picture
Hand fabricating a small selection of precious metal jewelry; earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings, Aline's work is light and airy, organic and always whimsical.

"I love shapes; ellipses to circles, to squares and back. Clean and pure lines, by nature are difficult to achieve.  This I resolve through an architectural design in a small multi-dimensional sculpture.  If I stray from traditional jewelry, it is to honor classic shapes. Most of all, it is to simplify in order to allow a design to unfold into its purest form."

Aline's techniques include forging, shaping, and soldering. The execution of her simple designs are clean and polished and the perfect alignment is achieved with the least amount of lines.

After spending 10 years in a business career where black, navy blue, brown, beige and dark green dominated my wardrobe, accentuated by golden or pearl necklaces,  I now take great joy in dressing colorful, with purple, pink and fusia as my favorite shades.

Nicolese Jewelry is made out of handmade lampwork Nicolese Beads and a combination of Sterling Silver Wire and Findings, Svarowski Crystals, matt shining synthetic beads from Germany and accent glass beads. Every piece has a unique combination of these elements in order to create its specific character. Earrings can be created to each piece by repeating the tangling piece beneath the Nicolese Bead.

Creating glass jewelry is a creative outlet for me.  All the profit goes to the education of my foster daughter Leslie from Chile, who I started supporting fifteen years ago, when she was 7 years old. I am committed to making it possible for her to get a university education.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.  I am a true Southern girl.

Art in some form has always been in my life.  I started beading in 1998 to repair a necklace that I had broken.  When I finished, I was truly amazed at the beauty created just by putting all those little beads together.

I think jewelry is an expression of art and personality.  I never leave the house without jewelry.  I love creating pieces that are unforgettable and demand to be worn.

I am a notorious insomniac.  Most of my creativity comes during the late hours of the night.  I love the creative process, working in three dimensions to create the bold, feminine, tasteful and always unique designs that any woman would enjoy wearing.  All materials that I use are carefully hand selected.  I use semi-precious gemstones, vintage, modern and found objects.

I hope to continue creating and sharing my jewelry with the world for a long time.
